The new Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mrs.Olubunmi Adelugba has been formally presented to the Governor of the state, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji by the leadership of the All Progressive Congress.
The presentation which was done by the Chairman of the party, Mr Paul Omotosho had in attendance party excos from the 16 local governments in the state and 18 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
Mr Omotosho commended the Governor for being a true Democrat by not interfering in the emergence of the new speaker which he said would have bemoaned the democratic system of government.
He expressed hope that with time, other aggrieved members of the House would be reconciled in the interest of peace.
Also, the Deputy Speaker, Mr Hakeem Jamiu appreciated the Governor for being neutral in the emergence of the new speaker and pledged the support of the house for his administration.
The new speaker of the House, Mrs Olubunmi Adelugba in her speech commended the Governor for not interfering for justice to take its cause which signifies his Democratic nature.
She pledged to support the party, the Governor and work to ensure good governance for Ekiti people.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji in his speech sued for unity of purpose for the sake of the electorate who elected them as representatives.
Governor Oyebanji who described the incident at the house as a family affair announced his unflinching support to the supremacy of the party and pleaded for a healthy reconciliation process to call back the aggrieved members.
He however called for speedy passage of the budget in the interest of the people.
