Ninety eight political thugs arrested by the officers of the Nigerian Army on the eve of PDP primary election at Itawure have been paraded by the Ekiti State Police Command.
Addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti, the Command PPRO, Mr. Sunday Abutu said the suspects have confessed that they were sent by someone in Ibadan to come and unleash terror during the primary.
He said investigation has commenced on the alleged individual and would be arrested and prosecuted if found guilty.
“They said somebody organized them from Ibadan, and the person who led them into the state seems not connected to Ekiti. That somebody invited them, they mentioned the name and the police will still go after the person”.
Mr Abutu explained that the ninety eight suspects would be charged to court for unlawful possession of firearms.
The Police PPRO listed weapons recovered from the suspects to include twenty one Cutlasses, eleven guns of different type, live cartridges and charms.
