Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Sikiru Lawal has said that the struggle by the People’s Democratic Party PDP to return to power will be a smooth and easy ride if he is allowed to fly the party’s ticket.
Dr. Lawal boasted that he has a better chance of defeating the All Progressives Congress(APC) and return the PDP to power than other aapirants, including his former boss and aspirant, Engr. Segun Oni.
He affirmed that he remained the best among all aspirants on the account of his scintillating qualities in terms of education ,politics and fraternity with the grassroots.
Lawal who spoke while addressing newsmen on his intention to contest for Governorship position during the forthcoming election advised those agitating for zoning of governorship to the Southern Senatorial District to forget the advocacy, saying the best man should be allowed to govern to fast track development in all facets.
He blamed lack of quality leadership on the slow pace of development in the country, saying the current economic hardship, insecurity and unemployment being witnessed were symbol of insecurity on the parts of current leaders.
Dr Tae lawal who is the Baba Adini of Ekiti State called for change of attitude among those at the helm of affairs in the interest of Nigerians.
The PDP governorship aspirant also lamented over the state of some roads in Ekiti and called for urgent attention.
Speaking on his Governorship ambition, Dr Tae lawal said he is contesting to change the fortune of the state for better.
His word, I have served in different capacities and have enough experienced to rule the state, if given the opportunity.
While speaking on his relationship with the former Governor Segun Oni, he said he was not working for any aspirant but for his own ambition.
His words “Engineer Segun Oni is my boss and we have cordial relationship but that does not stop my own ambition.
He called on National leadership of PDP to address the controversy surrounding issues of delegates in the state ahead of primary election.
Dr Tae lawal therefore called on members of the party across the sixteen local governments to continue to mobilize for PDP ahead of June 18 Governorship election.
