The Governing Board of the *Ekiti State Drugs and Health Supplies Management Agency (EKDHSMA) has congratulated the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji , on the occasion of his third anniversary in office, lauding his visionary leadership and exceptional contributions to the transformation of the State’s health sector.
In a statement personally signed by the Board Chairman, Pharm. Olushola Shittu, the Agency expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for his unwavering support to the State’s healthcare delivery system, describing him as “a leader whose actions have consistently aligned with the principles of efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
Pharm. Shittu particularly commended the Governor’s approval of additional counterpart funding , which complemented the ₦26 million earlier released by the previous administration, leading to the successful completion of the Pharma Grade Warehouse recently commissioned by His Excellency.
According to him, “This edifice represents more than a physical structure — it is a landmark achievement that reflects the Governor’s resolve to guarantee access to quality, safe, and affordable medicines for every Ekiti citizen.”
The statement also recognized the support of Global Fund, describing the organization as a dependable partner whose technical and financial assistance continues to strengthen health systems not only in Ekiti but across Nigeria.
Highlighting the ongoing reforms in the Agency, Pharm. Shittu reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to financial discipline, transparent procurement processes, and prevention of misapplication of working capital, in line with the EKDHSMA Law.
He acknowledged that while some reforms had met resistance from certain quarters, the Board remains resolute in upholding the Governor’s vision of good governance and service to the people.
He further noted that EKDHSMA is exploring innovative strategies to enhance internally generated revenue, in alignment with the Governor’s Shared Prosperity Agenda, and aims to become a model Drug Management Agency in Nigeria.
Pharm. Shittu concluded by congratulating Governor Oyebanji on the impressive progress recorded across all sectors in the past three years, praying for continued strength and success as he advances the State’s development agenda.
