It was indeed a celebration galore in Igbole Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government, as the whole community trooped out enmass to celebrate their newly coronated Odofin, High Chief Oyebisi Oyewale Bamgboye who is popularly regarded as the Traditional Prime Minister of the community.
The town was agoged last Saturday as many dignitaries in Nigeria graced the coronation ceremony in Igbole Ekiti, the home town of the first Professor of geophysics in West Africa, Professor Ojo- Ugbole.
While speaking at the Coronation Ceremony, the Ekiti State Debuty Governor, His Excellency, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi said that, the State Government was willing and ready to partner with Igbole Ekiti in any of her developmental projects.
Otunba Egbeyemi congratulated Chief Bamgboye and wished him success in his new task.
While addressing the gathering, the Olugbole of Igbole Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Olugbenga Ajayi noted that Igbole Ekiti had experienced peace and witnessed tremendous developments since High Chief Oyebisi Oyewale Bamgboye was installed as the Odofin of Igbole Ekiti.
Among the dignitaries that attended the colourful event were the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Chairman Ido/ Osi Local Government Area, Mr. Adeola Lawrence, the former chairman of Ado Ekiti Local Government Area, Chief Ogunsakin, Former Commissioner for Health in Ekiti State, Hon. Olurotimi Ojo, and Ekiti State House of Assembly members
The Olugbole in council and other traditional rulers from about ten communities were also present at the event.
Evangelist Tope Alabi officiated during the cutting of the cake while Musical icon, King Sunny Ade entertained the audience with his sonorious and melodious songs.
Reverend Blessing Ajayi and hosts of other pastors from Joy Cometh Ministry, Lagos, including the Senior Pastor of the church, Pastor Olaitan Aromonlaran were also present at the event.
The Coronation Ceremony also features presentation of an award of excellence from EduLink Concepts to the Odofin.
Commenting on the justification of the selection of High Chief Oyebisi Bamgboye as a recipient of the award, the President of the organisation, Evangelist Aduralere Oluwagbohunmi said, “Chief Oyebisi Bamgboye has always been consistent in helping the aged, the less privileged and young students across schools in Ekiti State.”
