Court Sentences Two to Death by Hanging in Ekiti.

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced two men, Oke Iyiola and Olanribiwonnu Kazeem to death by hanging.

Delivering his judgment, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye said, death was the penalty for the offence committed and established against the accused persons.

According to the charge against the two accused, on July 20, 2016 at Ado Ekiti, Iyiola, 39 and Kazeem 27 conspired together and robbed one Mr Olaoti Abiodun of his two phones and money at No. 2 Ameen close 4, Federal Housing, Estate Okeila, Ado Ekiti.

The were charged for a three count charge that bothers on Conspiracy and armed robbery which contravened section 516 and 402(2) (a) of the Criminal Code Law , cap C16, Laws of Ekiti State 2012.

To proof his case, the prosecutor, Julius Ajibare called three witnesses but the accused called no witness and they spoke through their. counsel Chris Omakhafe.
