Commissioner Berates Low Compliance with Sanitary Law in Ekiti State.

Residents of Ekiti State have been reminded to always support government’s efforts at reducing the spate of outbreak of diseases through proper hygiene.

The commissioner for environment and natural resources, Mrs Iyabo Fakunle- okiemen stated this while monitoring this month’s environmental sanitation in Ado Ekiti.

She noted that the level of compliance with sanitary laws in the State was below average saying such could increase the chance of outbreak of diseases.

Mrs Fakunle-okiemne maintained that keeping the environment clean at all times remained key to healthy life style.

In a remark, the Director of Environmental Health and sanitation agency, Mr Tunde Balogun frown at nonchalant attitude among many residents who were roaming the streets during the exercise.

He also called for concerted efforts at ensuring reduction in the spread of diseases.

Radio Nigeria correspondent reports that there was little compliance in some areas visited like Adere along ilawe road, old garage, atikankan among others.
