Clerics Preach Obedience, Fear of Allah as Muslims hold Eid Prayer

People in position of authority have been urged to let the lessons of Eid-el-kabir to serve as a guide to them.

The Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas Southwest Nigeria, Edo and Delta States , Sheik Jamiu Kewulere-Bello gave the advice in his sermon at the Central Mosque Eid, Odo-Ado Ado Ekiti.

Sheik Kewulere-Bello led the two rakat prayer at the Central Mosque prayer ground alongside other Muslim Clerics.

The Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas, Southwest Nigeria, Edo and Delta states enjoined political leaders to fulfil the promises they made for the citizens.

Sheik Kewulere-Bello also advised them to include the fear of Allah in their system of government.

At the Sumuratu Muminina Eid prayer ground, Alhaji Labeeb Dandawi urged Muslim faithfuls to abide by the major significance of the celebration which is obedience, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

On his part, the Chief Imam of Ekiti state government house, Ado-Ekiti, Alhaji Abdulfatai Abdulrauf called for fervent prayers for solutions to the challenges facing Nigeria.

In his sermon at the Ansar-Udeen prayer ground, Ajilosun Ado-Ekiti, the Chief Imam, Alhaji Abdulmutolib Abdulahi told the faithfuls to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and commitment which the celebration teaches.

Also, an Islamic scholar, Alhaji Olayiwola Jegede advised government to create more jobs to take youths off the street to check criminal activities in the country.

Addressing Muslim adherents, the Chief Imam of A.U.D Central Mosque, Omuo-Ekiti, Alfa Abdul-Rasheed Adewumi urged them to seek the face of Allah for various challenges confronting the Nation.

Speaking with newsmen at some of the prayer grounds, the Baba Adinni of Ekiti state, Dr. Sikiru Tae-Lawal and the Aare Musulumi of the state, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Adebiyi stressed the need for faithfuls to submit their tribulations to Allah who has solution to all their problems.

All the Clerics advised Nigerians to embrace the spirit of endurance.
