It was like a triumphant entry for former Governor, Chief Segun Oni in Ijero Ekiti as he was welcomed by people to the town with cheers and solidarity songs to inaugurate “Ijero PDP Family House”.
The Ijero PDP Family House was the first after the one inaugurated in Ado couples of months ago to provide platform for members in the council area to relate and fashion out the way forward for the party in coming election.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Segun Oni thanked people of Ijero Ekiti for the warm reception as well as the office opened on his behalf and assured them that more of what they enjoyed during his first administration would be dished out if given the chance again.
He urged PDP members in the Local Government to remain one entity and work harder towards ensuring that the party emerge victorious in coming elections in the state.
Earlier, the Coordinator, PDP Ijero Ekiti Family House, Barrister Biodun Obaweya assured Chief Segun Oni that members of the party in the council were solidly behind him due to his pedigree and stance on integrity.
Also, a Stewart of the party, Mr Lai Oke described Chief Segun Oni as a credible and diligent person who has the love of the people at heart .
Others who spoke at the event appreciated Chief Segun Oni for touching their lives when he was the governor and promised to render every support to achieve his political ambition.
The inauguration of the family house was also used to welcome detectors from other party into the PDP household.
