It was a moment of sober reflection at a special mass organised for late Flight Seargent Felix Olasunkanmi Olawunmi, one of those who died in the military helicopter which crashed landed in Abuja in February this year.
The mass which was held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Old garage, Ado-Ekiti was attended by wife, children, father and families of the deceased, as well as their loved ones.
In a sermon, the Assistant Cathedral Administrator, Reverend Father Augustine Kobor reminded human beings that they were sojourners on earth and they must return to their creator one day.
He said people should live their lives to glorify the Lord, as they would account for their deeds while alive.
Reverend Father Kobor urged the family of the late Flight Seargent Olawunmi to take solace in God who is the custodian of everything in life, adding that he would be rewarded in heaven for his service to humanity.
“There is hope after death, do not loose hope in God. Our souls belong to Him and He must take it one day”.
While speaking, the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Omolola Olawunmi who presented an emotional tribute about her late husband said he would be missed for his love and care for the family.
Mrs. Omolola Olawunmi said She had taken solace in God, as he has knowledge of whatever happens to mankind.
Aged thirty eight, late Flight Seargent Felix Olasunkanmi Olawunmi who hails from Ogotun-Ekiti, Ekiti Southwest local government died alongside six other colleagues in the military helicopter which crashed landed on Sunday February 21, 2021 in Abuja.
