The Confederation of African Football, CAF has picked Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen as one of the players to watch at the 34th African Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Cote D’Ivoire on January 13, 2024.
In a CAF report, the governing body described Osimhen as the arrow head of Nigeria’s rich attacking frontline.
The 25-year old Nigerian Striker was the top scorer in the qualifiers for the AFCON with 10 goals and he is the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
Osimhen is set to take part in AFCON for the second time after his debut in Egypt in 2019 and missing the 2021 edition in Cameroon due to injury.
Other players to watch as listed by CAF are Senegal’s Sadio Mane, Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar; Guinea’s Sehrou Guirassy; Algeria’s Mohammed Amoura and Sebastien Haller of Cote D’Ivoire.
The rest are, Azzedine Ounahi of Morocco, Mohammed Kudus of Ghana, Mohammed Salah of Egypt and Peter Shalulile of Namibia.
