Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one person in Ado Ekiti by unknown person.
The young man was said to have been killed after he was hit with charm while celebrating the result of the APC congress.
The Ekiti State Police Public Rations Officer who confirmed the incident said investigation had commenced
His word “Our control room got a distress call that while some persons were at the small pavilion celebrating their victory during the wards congress, a yet to be identified person beat his fellowman, who later gave up the ghost, with a substance suspected to be charm.
Investigation has commenced, as ordered by the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, in order to apprehend the perpetrator.
Meanwhile, a cross section of persons in ward 9 Ado Ekiti staged a protest over the alleged manipulation of the process and alleged imposition of unpopular candidate
Addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti after the congress, Mr. Azeez Jimoh Adekunle who contested the chairmanship seat of Ado ward 9 called on the nation body of the party to declare him winner or cancel the election for fresh process.
He said what transpired during the election was shameful and unacceptable saying those who queued behind him were almost two hundred and fifty but his opponent who has less than seventh persons was declared winner.
