The Aseyin of Iseyin in Oyo State, Oba Adekunle Salawudeen has joined his ancestors.
Family sources who told newsmen, said the monarch’s death happened on Sunday, the fourth of such occurrence among senior traditional rulers in Oyo State within eight months.
The Aseyin was said to have died during a protracted illness.
Sources within the palace and the town said Iseyin was thrown into mourning following the demise of the monarch.
Ealier, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Ajagungbade Oyewumi joined his ancestors in December 2021, followed by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who, respectively, joined their ancestors in January and April 2022.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas, Oba Francis Alao, who is the Olugbon of Orile Igbon described the death of Aseyin as shocking.
