A newly appointed board member , Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr Abdulrahaman Mai-Gona died today, Thursday in Saudi- Arabia.
The death of Dr Mai-Gona who was also a lecturer in the Department of Islamic Studies, Gombe state University is contained in a statement from the Executive Secretary Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Board, Alh. Sa’adu Hassan- Adamu.
“With total submission to the will of Allah,the death of Alhaji Dr Abdulrahaman Umar Mai Gona occured today Thursday July 14, 2022 in Saudi during a brief illness.
The statement notes that the deceased died in Makkah during a brief illness while the board as at press time was making plans to ensure his timely burial as stipulated in Islam.
“He is a newly appointed board member, Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board by the Executive Governor of Gombe State Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, and also a lecturer in the Department of Islamic Studies, Gombe state University.”

The death of Dr Mai-Gona has raised the number of Nigerian pilgrims that died since the commencement of the Hajj exercise to 4.
Radio Nigeria Correspondent, reports that 2 females from Kaduna and Nasarawa States and a male from Borno State had earlier died in Muna, Arafah and Makkah and buried in the Holy Land.
