The Chairman, Ajoni, Local Government Development Area Prince Michael Ogungbe has received awards of excellence from three different reputable organizations in Nigeria
The bodies are the Nigeria Union of Journalists,(NUJ) Correspondents’ Chapel, Ekiti State Chapter, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Ekiti State as well as Evergreen Media Consult based in Lagos State.
While presenting the award to the Local Government boss at the Council’s headquarters in Ayedun Ekiti, the Chairman NUJ Correspondent Chapel, Mr Raphael Ogbonnaiye,
said the award was in appreciation and recognition of Prince Ogungbemi’s laudable and remarkable strides at curbing insecurity and encouraging children to attend schools in the council area.
Mr Ognonnaiye said the council boss’ initiatives at providing adequate security in his jurisdiction had yielded fruitful results for people to live peacefully and had created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The Ekiti State Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Ekiti State Command, Pastor Sunday Makinde noted that the actions and policies of AJoni LCDA boss were having positive impacts on the populace, hence,he was rated the Best Performing Local Government Administrator of the Year.
The President, Evergreen Media Consults Lagos, noted that Prince Ogungbemi also performed creditably well in the areas of governance, Education and provision of social amenities for citizens in Ajoni LCDA.
The organizations of Media practitioners specifically lauded prince Ogungbemi’s initiative at putting in place a Local Security Network codenamed Operation EBBORAC that had helped in checkmating recurrent cases of kidnappings, killings and cattle rustling in the Council.
In a remark, the Award recipient and Chairman, Ajoni local Government Development Area, Prince Micheal Ogungbemi expressed delight that his plans and efforts toward taming the rampaging bandits and kidnappers as well as boost education of children, were attracting local and international recognitions.
” I am ready to sustain programmes and policies that would bring about meaningful development in my council area. I will do everything possible to make education attractive to girl child, reduce number of out of school children and ensure economic growth”
Prince Ogungbemi who appreciated the recognition, expressed his readiness to continually wage relentless war against kidnappers, bandits and cattle rustlers that were holding people of the council by the jugular and disrupting economic activities.
Prince Michael Ogungbemi said ” I am appealing to well meaning individuals and organizations to support and partner LCDAs in Ekiti to ensure peace, security of lives and property, boost the people’s economy at the grassroots”
The Ajoni Local Government Boss added that he was already to partner international organisations for the actualisation of his vision to make every child of school age in the council enjoys unfettered access to education with a view to reducing the menace of school dropouts in Ekiti.
