In a bid to make teaching and learning conducive for students in Ekiti state, the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE has renovated over two hundred structures in secondary schools across the three senatorial district of the state.
In some schools new buildings were constructed.
The structures renovated Ithe schools include, classrooms, toilets and administrative blocks while furniture and other learning materials were also donated to the schools to enhance teaching and learning.
Speaking during a tour of the Project, Coordinator of AGILE in Ekiti State, Mrs Oluwayemisi Alokan said the programme was a World bank supported project targeted at girl child education and empowerment.
According to her, the move is to make learning and teaching comfortable for girl child in order to meet up with their counterparts globally.
In a separate interviews, principal of the Ekiti State Government Special School, Ido Ekiti, Mr Odunitan Salami, the principal of Methodist Girls High School, Ifaki Ekiti, Mrs Bolatito Adetutu and that of the Ekiti Parapo College, Ido Ekiti, Mr Olaoluwa Ilesanmi appreciated AGILE for prioritizing the education of girl child in the society.
They noted that the facilities would go along way at improving academic activities in the school.
