Abuse: Former Ekiti Lawmaker Accused Of Sexual Assault Goes Into Hiding

Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed that a former member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Dr. Samuel Omotosho who was accused of sexual assault on a minor has refused to show up to clear himself despite all invitations.

To this end, the command  in a statement on Monday by the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Sunday Abutu asked the accused person to appear before the command and prove his innocence.

The statement titled “Dr Samuel Omotoso Case Still Under Investigation reads “The Ekiti State Police Command wishes to update and inform the general public that the case of unlawful carnal knowledge/sexual assault of a minor reported against one Dr Samuel Omotoso of the Federal Medical Centre(FMC), Ido-Ekiti, is still under investigation.

“Though the suspect has refused to surface since the case was reported on 29th April, 2021 despite all efforts made by the Command to get across to him, Dr Samuel Omotoso has equally written a petition against certain individuals through his lawyer which he has also refused to show up to substantiate personally instead, he went into hiding.

“The Command, while promising that no stone will be left unturned concerning the case, advised Dr. Samuel Omotoso to come out immediately and clear himself of the allegation and also substantiate his allegation in the petition written on his behalf by his lawyer.

Though Dr Omotosho had recently issued a statement where he denied the allegation.
