A farmer, Alhaji Jimoh Olodan who was kidnapped in Iyemero Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State last week Friday has been released.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed the release of the Farmer.
According to the PPRO, Alhaji Olodan was released on Sunday, June 13, 2021 between the hours of 7 and 8 O’clock in the night.
He however did not give details about how the farmer was released.
Alhaji Olodan was whisked away when gunmen suspected to be herdsmen on Friday night invaded Elegure farm settlement, which is few kilometres to Iyemero-Ekiti.
It was reported that a community source who spoke under the condition of anonymity said the kidnappers had earlier contacted the Olodan’s family and demanded N30m before he can be released which the family found to be too outrageous and they were not comfortable with.
