The Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State has arrested a fifty-year-old man, Sanny Nwoha over illegal possession of fake one thousand naira notes.
Addressing newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the commander of Amotekun Corps, Retired Brigadier General Joel Komolafe explained that the commander got a call from a POS Operator in Omuo Ekiti that the man was moving around with fake one thousand naira currency.
He noted that the suspect came from Lagos to spend the fake currency in Ekiti, saying he would be handed over to the Police for further investigations.
Retired Brigadier General Komolafe urged members of the public to properly check any money given to them, noting that some people had been moving around to spend fake currency.
In an interview, the suspect, Sanny Nwoha said that the money was given to him by a friend, and they did not know that it was fake.
