Federal Poly Ado-Ekiti Emerges Winner of 2023 NIPOGA Games

The Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti has emerged the winner of the 21st edition of the Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association , NIPOGA hosted by Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo Ondo State.

Forty Polytechnics participated in nine different sports at the NIPOGA.

The Lagos State Polytechnic finished second while the Polytechnic Ibadan came third in the overall medals table.

Declaring the games closed,Ondo State governor, Mr Oluwaroimi Akeredolu represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologun applauded the organisers and called for consistency to ensure that the games help in harnessing talents.

The President of NIPOGA and Rector Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Adebola Ogundahinsi said the aim of the game was achieved which was uniting Nigerian youths and providing a platform for talents to showcase their skills through sports.

In the final football match played at the school sports complex , Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa defeated Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State by 3 goals to1 on penalty after the ninety minutes encounter ended goaless.

Receiving the flag to host the next NIPOGA games, the Rector Delta state Polytechnic, Ugwachukwu Professor Emmanuel Achenu promised early preparation and improvement in the next edition.
