Mr Biodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as the seventh Executive Governor in Ekiti State, alongside the Deputy governor, Mrs Monisade Afuye.
They took the oath of office and allegiance at a well attended ceremony by the people from all walks of life including the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, APC National Leader, Chief Bisi Akande, Five serving APC Governors, Former Governors, Captains of industries among others.

Before his address, the new Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji used the occasion to observe a minute silence in memory of his late mother, late Mrs Oyebanji and there after sang three songs.
While appreciating the people of Ekiti State and the Immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, his Wife Erelu Bisi, former Executive Governor in the state, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and some Ekiti founding fathers, Governor Biodun Oyebanji promised to live up to expectations.
Governor Oyebanji said he would build on achievements of past Governors in Ekiti State by re-energizing the existing security system and come up with new initiatives that would put an end to all sorts of criminal activities in Ekiti.
The Ekiti State Governor who maintained that he was not unaware of the current economic challenges in Ekiti and Nigeria as a whole, said issues of salary, gratuity and peoples welfare would be addressed
Governor Oyebanji affirmed that priority would be given to his manifestoes which anchored on six pillar to include, Youth Development and Job Creation, Human Capital Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, Infrastructure and Industrialization, Arts, Culture and Tourism as well as Good governance.
He however called on the people not to shy away from giving useful suggestions and advice constructive criticism capable of moving the state forward, saying that his door would be opeyn for every indigene of the state.
Governor Oyebanji urged residents of Ekiti state to always pray for his administration.
In a comment the immediate past Governor of Ekiti state Dr kayode Fayemi expressed the believe that the new Governor would make the state better for economic prosperity.
