Youths Score Lawmakers Low in Ekiti

Youths in Oye and Ikole Ekiti have expressed dissatisfaction with the performances of some of the leaders representing the areas in various political offices.

This was part of resolutions reached after a town hall meeting organized to assess the impact of the leaders in recent time.

At the meeting held in Ilupeju Ekiti, the youths among whom are Babatunde Oluwaseyi from Otunja, Akomolafe Idowu from Ilafon and Onipede Gboyega from Itapa said the poor performance of the concerned leaders subjected people of the Constituencies to hardship and hindered progress of the areas.

Among the people scored low, are the leader of Government Business at the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan and Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Olubunmi Adetunbi.

However, the lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency One, Mr. Peter Owolabi was scored high but urged to improve if given another opportunity.

Earlier, the Speaker, Ekiti Youth Parliament, Mr. Toba Fatunla and the President of Oye Local Government Youth Forum, Mr. Femi Fagbemi urged youths to obtain their PVCs and be ready to vote out underperforming leaders.

Reacting, the lawmaker representing Ikole Constituency One in the State House of Assembly, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan said that he engaged in youth empowerment, construction of library among others, saying those who scored him low were mischievous while Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi promised to get back to our correspondent.
