Nigerians have been advised to always maintain peace and high sense of maturity at homes to prevent domestic violence.
A legal practitioner, Mrs.Sheley Alkali gave the advice while featuring on a weekly interview programme” Family affairs” on Radio Nigeria Progress FM Ado Ekiti.
Mrs. Alkali observed that many avoidable domestic violence had led to loss of lives of spouses at the detriment of their children.
She mentioned some causes of domestic violence to include ego, low self esteem , inadequate finances commitment and lack of communication.
The legal practitioner also cautioned against physical, sexual and psychological abuses at homes and urged spouses to go for regular marriage counseling, to prevent broken homes.
“We should be at peace at all times, wives show be submissive, while husband should love their wives. The reported cases of domestic violence is alarming and there must be an end to it.
