Sons of Retired school principal beat fake BEDC official to coma

A fake staff of Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC identified as Gbenga Alejo, was reportedly beaten to coma by some residents of Oshinle quarters, in Akure, Ondo State capital.

It was gathered that Alejo, who claimed to be a BEDC staff, was beaten blue and black, by five sons of a retired school Principal, when they discovered he was a fake official.

Alejo’s was reported to have gone in company of his friend, to Oshinle area in Akure for bill collection on Friday April 9,2022.

On getting to the residence of the retired Principal, the suspect reportedly asked the family to present their bill, but they declined.

An eyewitness account said one of the sons got furious and demanded for Alejo’s Identification card, which he could not produce.

The suspect was said to have found their demand offensive, and exchanged abusive words with the boys, after which he ordered his partner to place a ladder to the pole for disconnection.

Reports had it that as Alejo climbed the ladder to disconnect the family wire from the power source, the retired Principal’s sons pulled him down from the ladder and beat to a state of coma.

It was learnt that members of the family were suspicious, as they recently recharged their prepaid meter which costs them five thousand naira monthly.

Alejo’s partner was said to have later confessed to the retired Principal’s sons , that they had  been to several houses, where some residents gave them money while others showed them their bills.

He said that luck, however, ran out on them at the Principal’s residence.

According to report, the fake BEDC staff has been handed over to the nearest Police station for further investigation.
