As the country is still in the euphoria of the 61st Independent anniversary celebration, Nigerians have been cautioned against speaking ill of the country and the leaders.
The pastor in charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Youth Province 9, Anthony Obinna-Ibe gave the advice in a sermon at Palace of Praise Parish, Irewolede Estate, Ado Ekiti.
He noted that the various problems the country is facing today could be as a result of the curses citizens rain on the nation and especially, the leaders.
Pastor Obinna-Ibe explained that behaviors such as evasion of tax, careless attitude towards civic responsibilities, neglect of societal values were all factors contributing to problems facing Nigeria.
“Leadership is not always the problem we have as a nation g. Even the attitudes of we the citizens most times contribute to rottenness in the society”.
“You will see some people throwing dirt on the ground, some people will not go to work and yet be collecting salaries. And these same people will be the one cursing political leaders. If desire a better country, then we must change our attitudes” Pastor Obinna-Ibe said.
He stressed the need for leaders at all levels to always align themselves with God in their decision making as nothing can be achieved without His input.
