Ekiti State government has called on parents to give improved attention to the wellbeing of their children particularly now that schools are on vacation.
The advice became imperative due to the rampant cases of kidnapping, Child molestation
Sexual abuse and rape in the society
Speaking with a reporter of progress FM, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Community Engagement and Enlightenment, Chief Tosin Ajisafe-Aluko appealed to parents to adopt some precautionary measures such as Knowing where their children or wards are per time and never allow them to stay with untrusted persons.
She urged parents never to leave their children alone, apply safety measures in and around the house, Secure their homes and be vigilant.
Other measures according to her are the need for parents not to send their kids off to their grannies without helps around saying most Grannies are weak, vulnerable and not so disciplined anymore while she also urged parents to get closer to their children and wards.
Chief Aluko explained that the government of Dr Kayode Fayemi is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child.
