The Prelate Methodist Church Nigeria Dr Samuel kanu-uche has blamed series of regional agitation for secession in the country on poor leadership and bad governance.
He spoke in Ado Ekiti, when he led some selected priests of the church on a visit to Ekiti state Governor Dr kayode Fayemi.
Dr uche noted that Nigeria’s problem was leadership, stressing the agitating for succession were left with no option than to make their demands known through various means.
The Prelate also called for a true Federalism where the nation’s resources would be shared equitably for the benefit of all Nigerians..
He further added that the country needs leaders who fear God and has a genuine passion on the plight of the masses.
The prelate commended the Governor for his infrastructural development and for sustaining peace among the people.
Earlier Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi stressed the need for concerted efforts geared towards nation buliding, noting that this can not be achieved by fiat.
Dr Fayemi maintained that the task of nation building was a continuous process as the nation must continue to exist without any sense of discrimination and feeling of oppression among its citizens.
Dr Fayemi called for more prayers to overcome various challenges confronting the country and to sustain harmonious and peaceful coexistence of the people.
