The Governor of District 404B2 Nigeria of Lions Club International, Dr. Ademola Adesoye has charged the Executive members of the Ekiti State University’s Charter to discharge their duties with commitment and dignity to achieve the core objectives of its establishment.

Dr. Adesoye who made the call during the official presentation of the charter executive members, called on the leadership as well as newly inducted members to represent what the club was known for which includes service to humanity in all their dealings.

“From this time henceforth, any Lion in the house that rise up to say in lionism without a revere to “reach out”, “touch lives”, “kindness matters”, will be fined. Reach out to people in the society, please touch their lives and show them a lot of affection” the District Governor said.

In his acceptance speech, the Charter President, Dr. Michael Afolayan who is the Sub-Dean Faculty of Law, Ekiti State University expressed his readiness to always push the objectives of Lions Club which were geared towards making positive changes to the society.

“I feel very very humbled and count it a great honour and privilege to be found worthy to lead the Lions Club in Ekiti State University in our service to humanity and I know that there is a wide gap in leadership and service in our country today, many people want to lead but do not want to serve and that is the hallmark of Lions, good leadership”.

Dr. Afolayan said the charter under his leadership would form synergies with NGOs and International bodies to effectively carry out its mandates of ensuring a progressive society.
