The Ekiti state governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has re-echoed his commitment to the elevation of young, competent and experienced lawyers both male and female in the state to become judges to drive the judicial sector.
Governor Fayemi stated this in Ado Ekiti on Monday when the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ado-Ekiti Branch, Mr Adeyemi Adewumi led other executive members on a courtesy visit to him.
The Governor Fayemi believed that it was better to have lawyers who have practiced in the state as judges.
He, however, described as unfortunate the closure of courts in the nation as a result of the on-going JUSUN strike which the Governor ttributed to misconception and misunderstanding.
Dr. Fayemi hoped that parties involved would be able to reach a reasonable conclusion soon to give room for administration of justice without interference.
Earlier, Chairman of NBA in Ekiti State, Mr. Adeyemi Adewunmi had commended the Governor for his efforts in ensuring that a reasonable conclusion was reached concerning the on-going JUSUN strike.
He also solicited for government’s assistance in the construction and completion of the association building project.
