An Islamic cleric Imam Ahmad Abdulsalam, has called on leaders at all levels to always put the unity and development of Nigeria above their personal interests to save the country from total collapse.
He made the call in a sermon in Ado Ekiti, when some selected muslim leaders converged on Ekiti Government house to break thier fast with the Governor Kayode Faydmi.
The Cleric who is the Chief Imam of Ikere Ekiti and Missionary Ansarudeen Ekiti and Ondo states bemoaned the attitude of some leaders whose aim was bent on destroying the country and described such idea as unpatriotic.
He stressed the need for religious leaders to continue to prayer for the peaceful coexistence of the country and change the negative perception of Nigerians.
Governor kayode Fayemi while addressing the faithful, urged the Muslim leaders to utilize the last ten days of Ramadan to pray for the intervention of God in the economic and security situation of the country.
Dr Fayemi noted that the forum was organise to identify with muslims faithful in Ekiti and solicited their support and prayers for the overall development of the state.
Also, the President League of Imams and Alfas, Southwest, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere led the congregation to offered prayers for the peace, progress of Ekiti State and the country at large.
