25-year-old woman from Mali, Halima Cisse has created a world record as she was delivered of nine children, (nonuplets), in a single birth.
The woman caught the attention of the press earlier in March after an ultrasound scan detected seven babies (septuplets) in her womb.
A need for special care however, made authorities to fly her to Morocco, where she gave birth to four boys and five girls through caesarian session handled by professional doctors.
Mali’s minister of health, Fanta Siby, confirmed in a statement that Halima Cisse delivery of nonuplets was safe and successful and that the mother and the babies were all doing well.
Siby added that the mother and her new brood were expected to return to Mali in few weeks.
