The governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has said he hopes to meet the athletes who represented the state at the recently concluded National Sports Festival in Edo state.
Speaking on the monthly media interactive program “MEET YOUR GOVERNOR” on Monday, governor Fayemi who said he was prepared to host the athletes informed that he had directed the commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Micheal Awopetu to bring the sports ambassadors to him.
Recall that Ekiti state won 2 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals at the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival.
The athletes who were 88 in number had since been awaiting a grand reception by the state governor as hopes are high that outstanding athletes who won medals will be handsomely rewarded while others too will be encouraged to do better next time.
