Killers Of Kogi Commissioner Demand N100 Million Ransom For Abducted LG Chairman

The kidnappers of the Yagba West Local Government Chairman in Kogi State, Mr. Pius Kolawole, are demanding N100 million ransom before he can regain his freedom.

He was abducted around the boundary of Kogi and Kwara States during the weekend while Solomon Adebayo, the commissioner for pension of Kogi State, who was with him, was shot dead.

It was learnt from reliable source that the kidnappers put a call through to the secretary of the local government late Sunday as well as one of the family members of the chairman to demand the ransom.

Although they were said to have promised to call in the early hours of Monday to continue with the terms of negotiation, but it was confirmed they had not as of the time of filing this report.

According to reports,the family, council area, and ALGON had agreed that the ALGON Chairman should continue with the negotiation.

The attack claimed the life of the State Commissioner for Pension Board, Mr. Solomon Adebayo popularly called Akeweje who was in the same vehicle with the chairman while the driver is receiving treatment in an Egbe hospital for the wounds he sustained during the attack.

However, it was learnt that the kidnappers did not touch the four year-old son of deceased who was in the vehicle at the time of attack
