Operatives of Oyo State Security Network Agency comprising Amotekun Corps , Oodua Peoples Congress OPC and Vigilance Group of Nigeria VGN has apprehended six suspected bandits at Kajola Local Government of Oyo state .
The Commandant of Amotekun, Colonel Olayinka Olagunju made this known in a statement made in Ibadan.
Retired colonel Olagunju says the arrest was made during a joint routine patrol in the early hours of today.
The suspects were arrested in separate incidents following encounters at two illegally mounted Road blocks.
The statement says the suspects tried to escape but were overpowered by the operatives .
The bandits which are Fulani
included Awali Atine, Ibrahim Abu, Shuaib Balau, Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah Masika and Umar Aliu Masika.
The bandits whose modus operandi is to pretend as herdsmen in the day and violently robbed innocent passengers on the highways at night were caught with one hundred and eighty three cows, weapons and over two hundred and sixty eighty eight thousand naira
The release adds that the suspects and the exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Authority Okeho Divisional headquarters.
