Nigerians have been urged to cultivate reading habit to eliminate ignorance, promote self esteem and development.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti at a public presentation of a Book ‘Where is your wrapper’, Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi recommended that Nigerians should read a book each month to promote literacy and socio economic development.
He described the book authored by Erelu Bisi Fayemi as a non-fiction, book of philosophy, feminist manifesto and a legal document.
The Wife of Ekiti State Governor and Author of the book, Erelu Bisi Fayemi advised writers to avoid ambiguities in their literary works so that readers would easily understand and appreciate their efforts.
Earlier, The Chairman of Association of Nigerian Authors, Ekiti State, Dr Sola Balogun said World Book Day was aside to change lives through open demonstration of love for book reading.
The event was witnessed by Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Otuba Bisi Egbeyemi, Chief of Staff, Biodun Omoleye, Speaker House of Assembly, Mr Funminiyi Afuye,Deputy speaker Ekiti state House of Assembly, Hakeem Jamiu among others.
