Government at all levels have been charged to promote policies that would protect the rights of women in order to enable them thrive like their men counterparts.
Reverend in charge of Grace of God Anglican Church, Possibility Ground, Bawa Ado Ekiti, Taiwo Ogundare gave the charge in a sermon to commemorate today’s International Mother’s Day.
Reverend Ogundare noted that women were instruments for a functional society hence, the needed support must be given so as to play their roles accordingly.
“Our mothers are the engine in our homes, without them around there will be a kind of dysfunction, so we need to appreciate what they are doing and that’s why we celebrating them today”
He urged mothers in all families to always exhibit characters and virtues capable of strengthening the bond of love in their homes.
“It is very important that our mothers take a que from characters in the bible like Dorcas, Sarah, and Abigail who lived a life worthy of emulation, so our mothers of today should be a role model to their children”.
Reverend Ogundare said mothers have prominent roles to play in ensuring a functional society hence the need to effectively perform their motherhood responsibilities.
