The Ekiti State Sports Council has hailed the position of the state government on the ban on use of School Sports fields for social activities in Ekiti State.
The Director of Schools Sports at the Sports Council, Samson Ibitoye in a statement expressed delight at the state government commitment of the state government towards rejuvenating Grassroots Sports Development in the State.
Mr Ibitoye described Sports facilities as key to meaningful sports development.
He noted that maintenance of sports facilities in schools should be given priority by all stakeholders .
The Director of Schools Sports,Ekiti state Sports Council reiterated the department’s preparedness to excellence in Sports participation in Schools.
He noted that the step taken by the governor Kayode Fayemi led administration was aimed at protecting the sporting facilities in Public Schools in the interest of budding athletes.
The Ekiti State Sports Council also urged all relevant stakeholders to join hands with the state government to maintain and protect the sports facilities in their schools.
