The National orientation Agency in Ekiti state has solicited the cooperation of council areas in mobilising and sensitising people at the grassroots on Federal government policies and programmes to engender a meaningful Society.
The State NOA Director, Mr Bankole Fadahunsi said during a visit to council secretariat in Ado Ekiti that such programmes included wagging war against indiscipline, ensuring hygiene practices, discouraging youth against thuggery and cultism, saying no to drug addiction, banditry, kidnapping among others.
Mr fadahunsi who observed that about seven other local governments had been visited in the state to solicit their cooperation urged council officials not to relent in their statutory functions to the masses.
Responding the chairman Ado Local government, Mrs motunde fajuyi who was represented by the vice chairman, Mr yomi Oso appealed to the Federal government to adequately fund council areas in the country so as to perform optimally.
