Ekiti State Government has procured hospital equipment worth about three hundred million naira.
The equipment are delivery beds, stethoscopes, drip stands, cord lamps, weighing scales, episiotomy scissors, towels, chairs, blood and glucose monitor among others.
Inaugurating the equipment in Ado Ekiti, Governor Kayode Fayemi said that the equipment would be distributed among forty eight primary healthcare in the state.
Represented by the Deputy Governor Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Governor Fayemi explained that measures had been put in place to ensure equitable distribution of healthcare delivery in order to improve the standard of health across the grassroots.
Governor Fayemi who charged the people to leverage on the health facilities in the state, urged the people to shun self medication.
He said that his administration would continue to renovate hospitals and Providing modern equipment to enhance the quality of health delivery.
Governor Fayemi observed that government would also ensure that all calder of the health personnel acquired the needed training to compete favourably with their counterparts in the world.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani appreciated Partners and Donor Agencies for supporting the state government and promised that the equipment would be used optimally.
Dr Filani expressed optimism that the equipment would not only enhance healthcare delivery but also reposition the health facilities.
