The Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Ado-Ekiti Branch has appealed to Ekiti state government to prioritise the welfare of its members in all government agencies in the state.
Chairman of the Ado-Ekiti Branch of NSE, Engineer Ezekiel Afuye made the appeal in Ado-Ekiti when he led other members of the executives on a courtesy visit to the Director General, Office of Transformation, Strategy and Delivery, Professor Mobolaji Aluko.
Engineer Afuye also called for periodic training for the NSE members, enhanced entry level for graduate Engineers, promotion and absorption of Engineering Corps members.
“We are also requesting for the inauguration of Engineering Regulation monitoring in the state, comprising representatives from necessary agencies, establishment of state council on public procurement in which NSE should be included and invitation of government representative to our branch public lecture slated for February 25, 2021”.
He said if the requests were granted, it would ensure quality delivery of contracts and projects in the state.
The NSE Ado-Ekiti Branch Chairman, Engineer Ezekiel Afuye noted that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to appreciate Professor Aluko for his support for the society and remind Governor Kayode Fayemi for the fulfilment of his promises to them.
Responding, the Director General, Office of Transformation, Strategy and Delivery, Professor Mobolaji Aluko commended them for the visit, saying his office will continue to support the NSE.
Professor Aluko promised to place their requests before the Governor for prompt action.
