Residents of Ijero, Awo and Epe Ekiti axis have appealed to the State Government to help in rehabilitating the roads linking the communities together which are currently in deplorable condition.
Some residents who spoke to Progress FM Reporter in some of the communities said the bad condition of the roads was hindering the transportation of their farm produce to the markets.
“For some times now, we have been recording huge loss on our farm produce as we could not move many of the outputs to the buyers and consumers”
“Awo-Iropora-Araromi-Epe-Ijero Ekiti route and Ijero-Ara-Awo Ekiti route have remained an eyesore for some times now and these said areas are known for farming, so we residents really need government assistance in making the roads motorable again”.
They explained that putting the roads in good shape would enable farmers in the area to produce more, knowing that they would be able to transport it to the markets.
