Ekiti NUT Leadership berates Disruption of Councils. Election

The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Ekiti State wing has expressed shock over the distruption of its local government elections by some suspected hoodlums.

The leadership of the union stated this during an interaction with the Representatives of Government including the senior special Assistant to the governor on labour matters, Chief Oluyemi Esan.

The NUT explained that such action was unacceptable urging its members to remain calm as urgent steps would be put in place to address the issue.

In a remark, the senior special Assistant to the governor on labour matters, Chief Oluyemi Esan also condemned the attack on the Teachers but confirmed that Government had no hand in the incident as speculated.

Meanwhile, the union has congratulated teachers in the state over the approval of sixty years of retirement age and forty years of service by the Federal executive council.
