1500 women and youths in Ekiti state have been empower with credit facilities under the micro enterprises enhancement loan scheme and job creation initiatives of the Federal government.
The credit facilities will also enable the beneficiaries to start and maintain micro businesses to cater for their immediate needs during this economic recession.
At the ceremony in Ado Ekiti Representatve of the Director General of the National Directorate Mr Babatunde Alao said the gesture was a Practical demonstration of the federal govt to encourage micro businesses.
The NDE Boss said the Federal govt was poised to collaborate with states for the onerous task of job creation to reduce unemployment to the barest minimum in the country.
In a response,Governor Kayode Fayemi told the beneficiaries that the loan was basically to enhance the businesses of the beneficiaries and not for frivolities.
Governor Fayemi through his Chief of staff Mr Biodun Omoleye said govt would always work with any job creation agencies to empower small scale businesses to improve the economy of the state..
In a remark the Director General Bureau of Employment and Productivity Mr Lanre ogunjobi said the initiative was designed soely for women and urged them to repay the loan on time.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke thanked the Federal govt for the gesture and promised not to default.
