The Ekiti State House of Assembly has directed Accounting Officers of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to appear before the Committee on Finance and Appropriation for the defense of their respective appropriation estimates for the year 2021.
A statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba, stated that the Committee in conjunction with other Standing Committees of the house would painstakingly scrutinized the proposed 2021 budget estimates before consideration at the plenary.
Hon. Adelugba said, the exercise will kick start on Thursday, 5th November, 2020 with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and Ministry of Commerce, Trades and Investments.
On Friday, 6th November, 2020. Ministry of Information and Values Orientation and its allied agencies will appear before the committee.
The Chairman said, the exercise would afford the stakeholders in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies the opportunity to speak to their proposed estimates to enhance robust legislation by the statutory committees.
She enjoined all the concerned MDAs to be seated in the Assembly Chamber at 9:am daily with necessary document.
