
The All Progressives Congress women in Ikere Ekiti Local Government Area have held a traditional dancing procession round the ancient town to celebrate the life and time of the late mother of Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye.
The procession which also attracted political leaders across the state, commenced at Prince Noah Afeni Adegboye’s Royal compound at Oke Osun Area and passed through the roundabout, Atiba Quarters, Oke Aafin Area and terminated at the Deputy governor’s personal residence located along Ikere-Igbara Odo road

Speaking after the procession, a Commissioner One in Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Funke Fajobi, said the action was to celebrate the life and time of Madam Adegboye, who had contributed immensely to the development of Ikere kingdom.
Dr Fajobi also explained that the solidarity was meant to show the spirit of sisterhood to the Deputy Governor, who is a leader of the party in Ikere Local Government Area

A former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Paul Alabi who also graced the occasion, described late Madam Adegboye as a community leader, who was widely respected for her humility and selfless service to humanity.
A Former Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Olabode Adetoyi, who joined the procession in solidarity, said the procession was a mobilisation in support of the Deputy Governor, whom he described as a loyal and humble political leader in Ekiti APC.
In her submission, the Director General, Office of Community Communication and Engagement, Mrs Mary Omotoso, sympathized with the Deputy Governor on the demise of her mother, saying that the lifestyle of Olori Adegboye typified a life full of positive impact in the community going by accounts rendered by Ikere people about the deceased’s contributions to community development and humanity in general.
