…as Femi Falope Emerges Chairman
The Ekiti Computers Operators and Graphics Design Professionals Association has elected its maiden executive members to pilot the affairs of the association for three years in the State.
Comrade Femi Falope emerged the maiden Chairman of the association while Adegumoye Edward emerged Vice Chairman.
Other elected executives include; Abimbola Abidemi, Treasurer; Omiata Adeyemi, Secretary; Hephzibah Bisi, Assistant Secretary; Ajayi Olanrewaju, Financial Secretary; Leye Lekan, PRO; Bimbo Yekini, State Taskforce and Sola Olagunju; State Welfare.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Falope pledged to take advantage of the new opportunities, address prevalent challenges, fashion out new insight and ideas and upscale their creativity and productivity.
The Chairman seized the opportunity to encourage its members to put more efforts by participating maximally for the growth of the association.
While commending the Chairmen of all their segmental committees for their kind gesture in accepting the responsibility given to them, he revealed that the proposed target is to acquire their own permanent site.
He equally highlighted the achievements of the association to include; registration with ARTISAN, acquiring new Secretariat, conducting first election, extending the association to all 16 LGAs, welfare support to members and introduction of new members on every meeting days.
The Guest Speaker, Aluko Muyiwa, who delivered his lecture themed: “Graphics Design: The Heart-Beat of Printing Industry,” said that graphics designers play an important role in the printing industry.
He urged members of the association to make impacts in the State through their craft while calling on them to also embrace modern tools and evolve towards a more productive output.
Other highlights of the event include; awards presentation to eminent personalities and outstanding members, inauguration of new executives and introduction of new members.
