It was a joyful moment as family, friends, political associates, traditional rulers, Chiefs, religious leaders and well wishers gathered in Ifaki Ekiti to celebrate a former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni on his Seventieth birthday.
Our Correspondent Oriola Afolabi who covered the event for Radio Nigeria reports that the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Ifaki, Ilogbe, Ifaki Ekiti was filled to capacity with people from all walks of life including Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, immediate past Governor of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi, former national and state lawmakers, Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Professor Abayomi Fasina, Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr. Aribasoye, among others.
In a sermon, the Bishop, Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Ayedun Ekiti, Right Reverend Titus Omoniyi advised leaders to always work for the development and service of humanity.
Bishop Omoniyi also charged people to always give thanks to God and pray for God’s intervention for Nigeria to be a good place for all irrespective of culture and language.
While appreciating God’s goodness in the life of the celebrant, the Bishop prayed God to bless Chief Segun Oni with more fruitful years in good health and enduring wealth
In an interview, the Celebrant, Chief Segun Oni appreciated the faithfulness of God in his life.
Chief Oni however called on Leaders at all levels to lead by example and work to make Nigeria great.
