Ekiti State government has expended twenty Million Naira on procurement of Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination E-Pin for three thousand prospective higher institution students.
Unveiling the distribution of free JAMB E-Pin in Ado Ekiti, Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji said the annual event was a golden opportunity for the beneficiaries to pass the examination with good results that would enable them to undertake their desired courses in higher institution of their choice.
She reteriated the state government’s commitment to free and compulsory education programme through the payment of West Africa School Certificate Examination fees, perimetre fencing of Educational facilities to ensure adequate security, among others.
“It is of note that Ekiti State government cares for all, both the youths and the old, as it continually embark on renovation of buildings in the 912 primary Schools, 200 secondary schools and the three special schools to provide access to friendly learning environment as it also ensure capacity building for teachers to ensure that students have sound Education” Dr Oyebanji added
Earlier in a good will message, the Commissioner for Education, Dr Bimpe Aderiye charged the students to avoid all distractions capable of hindering them from passing the Examination and choose courses where their strength lies.
Other relevant stakeholders including, the Chairman House Committee on Education, Mr Jacob Awoniyi; the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Femi Akinwumi, among others, called on the state committee on Adult Education to organize coaching classes for the students while the beneficiaries should be careful in filling the forms in order not to make wrong subject combinations.
While appriciating the gesture, one of the beneficiaries, Ajide Ifeoluwa promised on behalf of others that they would reciprocate the gesture with good results to encourage government to do more.
