Akeredolu: Ondo Gov Declares 3-day Mourning

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa has declared a three-day mourning, over the death of immediate past Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

A statement by Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Olusegun Omojuwa says the mourning starts on Thursday 28th December, 2023 and ends on Saturday, 30th December, 2023.

The statement adds that all flags are to fly at half mast across the state during the period of mourning.

Meanwhile, the newly sworn-in Governor has appointed Ebenezer Adeniyan as his Chief Press Secretary.

Other first set of appointees are Smart Omodunbi Jnr, Special Assistant on Political Matters; Mr Sunday Abire, Special Assistant, New Media; Miss Motunrayo Oyedele, Special Assistant, Photography and Dr Temitayo Iperepolu, Special Assistant, Domestic and Government House.

Ayedatiwa was sworn in as new Ondo State Governor on Wednesday, 27th December, 2023 some hours after the death of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was announced.
