The Police Service Commission says screening of successful applicants for recruitment into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force will begin on the 8th of January, 2024.
Spokesman for the Commission, Ikechukwu Ani told newsmen in Abuja that 416,270 youths satisfied the initial requirements for the next stage of the exercise and all of them would receive the letters inviting them for the next stage of the recruitment exercise very soon.
Mr Ani explained that the next stage will include both physical exercises and credential screening to be conducted in the applicants’ states of origin.
He added that there will also be Computer-based test and medical examination while candidates are to produce the original copies of their certificates, letters of attestation from Local government Chairmen and/or Traditional Rulers.
Mr Ani also reminded candidates to conduct themselves in a manner required of youths desirous of a career in the Police, an organization guided by strict laws and regulations and which holds discipline as a bedrock for its existence.
He warned applicants not to pay any amount to anyone as the entire recruitment process is free and based on merit.
Kaduna State, with 31,117, had the highest number of successful applicants from the 416,270 total, followed by Adamawa with 29,848, Benue with 25,346, Borno with 24,854 and Katsina with 24,239.
Anambra, with 1,141 had the lowest number of applicants among all the states of the federation.
